`Here at A STEP ABOVE GALLERY AND GIFTS  
we promote the arts by conducting an Art    
reception every month in conjunction with  
Berlins 2nd Friday" from 5pm to 8pm.
`We have a guest artist who is in person at the
gallery to answer questions and promote their works.
We serve wine and hor-d-orves and all
are welcome to attend.
      Reception in March
The Step Above Gallery and Gifts in Historic Berlin would like to
invite everyone to join us for Berlin’s 2nd Friday’s Art Stroll, on
March 12th, from 5pm to 8pm. We keep our doors open to
display artwork from local artists. Our guest artist for this
month is Jennifer Black. She lives in Snow Hill and attends
Salisbury University. Jennifer has been creating miniature
things out of polymer clay since she  was little. She has fallen in
love with the delicate look of the translucent petals, and has
been setting them in many different kinds of frames over the last
couple of years. Each piece of jewelry she makes takes on its
own personality. Every part, every petal, leaf and frame is hand
formed from clay. She hand sculptures all her art work using
her fingers, a razor blade and two small metal knitting needles.
She loves the process of considering the new piece while
conditioning the clay, watching it take shape in her mind and on
the table as she mixes the colors and attaches the pieces
together. Her goal is to create the most realistic looking jewelry
pieces and oh what a delight when she is finishes.
We also have many other artists on display here at our shop
including Jim Connolly, Myrna McGrath, Nancy Richard West,
Bonnie Preziosi, James Adcock, and Beverly Lynch to name a
few. We carry a wide selection of art work from jewelry to frame
art so do make it a point to shop locally for that gift idea and to
support your neighbors. Mark your calendars and come to
Berlin this Friday, March 12th, from 5 to 8pm to enjoy the arts,
eat in our restaurants, and browse our shops. You will have so
much fun!!! We will be having the 2nd Friday Art Stroll every
