reception every month in conjunction with  
Berlins 2nd Friday" from 5pm to 8pm.
`We have a guest artist who is in person at the
gallery to answer questions and promote their works.
We serve wine and hor-d-orves and all
are welcome to attend.
        A Step Above Gallery and Gifts  

in Historic Berlin would like to invite everyone to join us for
Berlin’s 2nd Friday’s Art Stroll, on June 11th, from 5pm to 9pm.
We keep our doors open to display artwork from local artists and as a special
treat for you, we will have two guest artists for the month,
Paige Ruby and Heidi Wetzel.

                           








    Our first artist is Heidi Wetzel who is a contemporary Basket weaver. She
loves to make baskets that are traditional, as well as sculptured and uses
many colors. Heidi’s work is often inspired by nature and the natural
surroundings found here on Del-Marva. She weaves many materials that she
finds in nature into her baskets. Heidi uses birch, willow, cedar bark, white
and black ash, reed, cane, leather, sweet grass, sea grass, waxed linen, hand-
spun yarn, and telephone wire. She adorns the baskets with shells, pinecones,
acorns, seashells, feathers, bones, and hand-crafted beads.  Many of her
sculptures are utilitarian, but some are purely decorative. Come see her work
and meet this Artist on June 11th, here at the gallery.
       Our second artist is Paige Ruby who is a trained, working artist with a
degree in communication Design from Kutztown University, Pa. She loves to
paint with water colors for the blending of colors and the smoothness of the
brush strokes. Her favored themes are here on the Eastern Shore like the
beach, or marine scenes. Her work is painterly and realistic, but she invites
the viewer to define the details, as sometimes it is very contemporary in
feeling. Paige feels that art provides an emotional response and reaction that
affects all our life’s daily. She belongs to the Art League of Ocean City,
Worcester County Arts Council, and Delaware water Color Society to name a
few. Her work will be on display at A Step Above Gallery for the Reception on
Second Friday and the month that follows. Be sure to stop in to meet her and
view her work June 11th, from 5 to 9 pm.
        We also have many other artists on display here at our shop including Jim
Connolly, Myrna McGrath, Nancy Richard West, Bonnie Preziosi, James
Adcock, and Beverly Lynch to name a few. We carry a wide selection of
artwork from jewelry to frame art, so do make it a point to shop locally for that
gift idea and to support your neighbors. New to the gallery are purses with a
nautical theme from Kelly Creations. Mark your calendars and come to Berlin
this Friday, June 11th, from 5 to 9pm to enjoy the arts, eat in our restaurants,
and browse our shops. You will have so much fun!!! We will be having the 2nd
Friday Art Stroll every month, so if you miss this one, catch the next one.
